Out and About Around Saginaw, Michigan

One of the best ways to fall in love with where you live is to explore all it has to offer. It’s easy to start with places like restaurants, parks, and shopping centers. But it’s also good to look for places that might make for a more unique day or night out. It helps if you start from a great location, like Camelot Place. Our Saginaw, MI apartments are just minutes from the waterfront area and plenty of local hotspots. Here are some new destinations you may want to check out!


#1: Pit and Balcony Theatre

Pit and Balcony Theatre has been in existence for almost 100 years. It started back in 1932, and although it’s changed venues over time, it has stayed true to its mission: “To create a dynamic community theatre that engages artists and audiences in enriching performing arts experiences.” Take a night to go see one of their plays, or if you’re an aspiring thespian, you can consider auditioning for upcoming productions or join a Youth Theatre Workshop. 


#2: Gingerblue Gallery

At Gingerblue Gallery, you can take in exhibitions that feature not only local artists but also national and international artists to give you a truly unique experience. You can view a variety of art mediums, including painting, sculpture, and handmade jewelry. To enjoy the art, you do have to set an appointment, but it’s the perfect option if you want an entertainment destination that is more laid back and intimate. 


#3: The Vault

If you’re into live music in a classic concert venue, then this is the place for you. The Vault features local, regional, and national talent. You can find everything from established local bands to tribute groups all appearing on a classic stage with plenty of surrounding service stations. 


#4: The Temple Theatre

You can enjoy a wide variety of performance experiences at The Temple Theatre. They offer the Saginaw Silver Screen, which includes showings of a variety of movies, some older and some more recent. You can hear the sweet sounds of the Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra at one of their concerts. You can also see touring stand-up acts from familiar faces like Kevin James and Tim Allen. 


#5: Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum

Get out and have some fun with any kids in your life at the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum. There are 11 different galleries to explore, each one with a different theme. You could wander through Car Works then make your way to Solar Spot or Water, Water Everywhere. The general theme for everything is play and learn. Each exhibit is designed to be interactive so kids can touch and feel and discover!


#6: Stardust

Stardust is the perfect venue if you have a wide variety of tastes you’re trying to satisfy or you’re just looking for plenty of options. You can do a huge range of activities all in one place: bowling, games in the video arcade, escape rooms, laser tag, bumper cars, and more. Plus, they have food and beverages suitable for kids and adults alike, so it truly has something for everyone. 


#7: The Dow Event Center

The Dow Event Center is another venue that has a little bit of everything, but it specializes in bigger events and traveling experiences. As they put it, their massive arena can host “basketball games, hockey, indoor football, concerts, monster truck shows, professional bull riding exhibitions, circuses, trade shows and more.” They are also home to the local hockey team, Saginaw Spirit.
