Pet-Friendly Parks in Saginaw

August 15, 2024

Get Outside With Your Pet

It’s the perfect time to explore your closest local parks with your furry friend. Residents of Camelot Place are in luck because our Saginaw, MI apartments are in an ideal location for accessing plenty of outdoor spaces, including our own dog park. But if you’re looking for some new natural spaces to discover, check out our list of pet-friendly parks!

#1:Price Nature Center

This nature center is sprawling and quiet, the perfect place for maybe a shy pet or just a lowkey outdoor adventure. Be sure to bring your leash and some sturdy hiking shoes because you can go for almost 3 miles on the trails and admire 186 acres of beautiful flora and fauna.

#2:Ringwood Forest

Enjoy another great getaway in this stunning forest. It’s also a great choice for a high-energy, leashed pet because it offers 3 miles of trails that wind through hilly terrain. You’ll cross through 160 acres that “include some of Michigan's oldest forest plantations.”

#3:Rail Trail

If you’re looking for long-distance but smooth walking or running, then this is the place for you. The trail stretches for roughly 10 miles straight, and it is entirely paved. There are two major road crossings, so a leash is a must, but the majority of the trail crosses through classic Saginaw farmland.

#4:Saginaw Valley Rail Trail

Visit the Saginaw Valley Rail Trail for a full 11 miles to explore, so grab the leash and get walking or running. You’ll get to stroll over seven bridges and view creeks, rivers, and wetlands. There are 3 different trailheads to choose from, so you can choose to go for a short or long outing. If you have a more skittish pet, this may not be the trail for you since it does include some equestrian areas as well.

#5:Imerman Memorial Park

When you’re looking for a fun and expansive park made for pets, this is the place to go! It includes a large bark park where you can let your pet frolic off-leash, but keep it handy for going in and out of the official fenced area. There are also special events you can go to throughout the year.
